Your personal privacy should belong to you.

We are a small, closely-knit team of privacy advocates, open-source nerds, and OSINT investigators based in Boise, Idaho. We don't have venture capital backing, and we don't answer to corporate investors. We built OptOutScout to help everyday people reclaim their digital footprints.

The Core Problem

The Fourth Amendment Loophole

The Fourth Amendment is supposed to stop the government from spying on you without a warrant. But commercial data brokers have created an easy workaround that everyone should know about.

These companies constantly scrape public voting logs, court records, utility bills, and property deeds to build massive profiles on regular citizens. Because these tracking networks sell their databases on the open market, law enforcement agencies and corporations can bypass the court system entirely. They don't need a warrant to look at your life; they just buy your file with a credit card. Our software works to delete your records from these databases so they have nothing left to buy.

Our Field Background

We spent years doing digital safety and investigative work. We used to help lock down personal data for people facing real-world threats, online stalking, or aggressive doxxing. Over time, we realized how intentionally difficult background check sites make it to remove your own data. We built this tool to handle that annoying, manual removal work for everyone.

100% Self-Funded

We pay for this project entirely through user subscriptions. Because we don't have outside investors pushing us to grow at all costs, we never have an incentive to sell out or secretly monetize our users. We stay small on purpose. It keeps our system simple and allows us to pass the savings directly on to you.

Our Engineering Philosophy

We Don't Hoard Identity Documents

We started this project because we were tired of seeing data removal services act just like the data brokers they claim to fight. Many traditional companies force you to upload a photo of your Driver's License or hand over your Social Security Number before they do anything.

Storing copies of your state IDs on an internet server is a massive security risk. We refuse to do it. Our software cleans your trail using the absolute bare minimum text info needed. On the rare occasion that a specific site strictly requires a photo ID to remove a profile, we don't take your files. Instead, our panel gives you the direct link so you can upload it safely from your own computer at your discretion.

Why Our Scripts Are Private

People often ask why we don't open-source our specific cleanup code. It comes down to a simple practical problem: data broker companies actively scan public code platforms like GitHub.

If a removal tool publishes its exact automated web paths or code hooks, broker engineering teams will immediately block them. Keeping our system private keeps our tools alive and lets us quietly adapt whenever brokers update their pages to stop us.

Be skeptical of anyone promising that your data can be wiped from the internet forever. Brokers will always try to build new profiles whenever a new public housing deed or marriage record is logged. Our job is to provide a constant, automated wall of friction to help keep your records down.

Local AI Assist Notice: We use a small, completely air-gapped AI cluster running on our own hardware here in Boise to assist us with maintaining this website, drafting copy, and sketching initial versions of backend scripts. It functions entirely as a localized development aid. Because this setup has zero visibility into customer data layers or active databases, no user details are ever exposed, and every script draft goes through direct developer review before moving into production.
